John Breugelmans has proposed a mixed-use building overlooking Lake Zurich.

A developer has until June 7 to show the village of Lake Zurich he has what it takes to construct a new building overlooking Lake Zurich, the Daily Herald reports.

The village board approved continuing a 75-day window for developer John Breugelmans of LZ Promenade LLC to provide proof of financing to build a proposed four story mixed-use building on the lakefront. Breugelmans’s plan consists of 60 rental apartments that would be convered to condominiums, as well as a restaurant, bar and other eateries. The village is also asking that the developer prove that he has not declared bankruptcy in recent years and does not owe money to any other government agency, the newspaper reports.
