About Ann
I've been writing about the Chicago suburbs for years. As both a staff member and a freelancer, I've written for a variety of publications including the Daily Herald, the Chicago Tribune, the Naperville Sun and the Kane County Chronicle. I've covered arts and entertainment, culture, lifestyles, business, community festivals, health, transportation, education and travel.
I got my feet wet with Web site communication back in the mid-90s at the Tribune.
I've lived in both the northwest and western suburbs, where I've had the pleasure of exploring the local landscape and telling the stories of residents, business owners and visitors.

Dear Mrs. Cross,
My name is Aanchal Taneja and I am a part of Dr. Phillip Troyk and Dr. Frank Lanes research team at Illinois Institute of Technology that is preparing for the first human trial of an intracortical visual prosthesis. In the process of doing so, we are trying to find recipients of visual prostheses to determine what information is important to prospective participants of a clinical trial, and as a basis for designing an informed consent process. We are very interested in speaking with you and would really appreciate your valuable input towards our project.

Dear Ms. Piccininni,
I am a research assistant working with Dr. Frank Lane at the Illinois Institute of Technology who is currently interviewing individuals who have received a visual prosthesis in an attempt to learn about human response to and experience of the prosthesis.
I have been researching to find individuals who may be interested in contributing towards our research and I came across an article written by you on Mrs. Kimberly Cross. I understand that Mrs. Cross was implanted with a visual prosthesis by Dr. Dobelle and we are very interested in speaking to him/her. I would really appreciate it if you could pass on the information below to Mrs. Cross so that if she would be interested in being a par t of the project, we could get in touch with her.
