Outgoing Lake Zurich village board trustee clears the air and comments on his years of service.
Outgoing Trustee Rich Sustich said there are no plans for him to become the next Lake Zurich village manager at Monday's village board meeting. "I'd like to quell a rumor that’s been going around for the last three months and allow Manager Slowinski to breath easier. Mayor Poynton does not nor did he ever have plans to appoint me village manager once he's elected. I have no plans to ask for it or accept it," Sustich said. (Tom) Poynton and I were there during the day talking to staff and looking at issues,” he said. Sustich said he will be supporting Poynton’s bid as an independent for village president. Poynton faces current Village President Suzanne Branding and independent candidate Mary Black. “We need somebody who will lead from the center. We need the village president as not …

Actually, the rumor came out of the Branding camp. The point was not to focus on who started it, but to ensure the public that Jason ain't going anywhere. If I were to speculate, I would say it's most likely the same person that claimed I was the Evil Emperor using mind control on the Village Board, as reported on the Mark Ernst, et all, campaign website 2 years ago.   more ›
