Lake County Deputy Dies Suddenly in Lake Zurich Home
Sheriff Mark Curran says passing of Deputy Brian Winandy, 39, "left a void in our ranks and a heaviness in our hearts."
The Lake County Sheriff's Office announced the unexpected death of one of their deputies, Lake Zurich resident, Brian Winandy, 39. He was found dead of natural causes in his Lake Zurich home at about 5 p.m., June 28, according to the news release. Sheriff Mark Curran said, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Brian’s family, in particular his son, mother and sister and all of Brian’s friends. He was a distinguished deputy whose pride of the profession was only exceeded by the love and pride he felt for his son Jarred." “Brian was the personification of the man who filled the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds of distance run.
