Local Families Join Worldwide Effort to Create Snowflakes for Sandy Hook
Parents, teachers, children and friends of Spencer Loomis School in Hawthorn Woods help decorate the halls for Newtown children's return to school.
People from across the country are busy creating snowflakes this week to send to Newtown. The Spencer Loomis community joined the effort on Wednesday at a snowflake creating event at Concord Banquets in Kildeer. "People from around the world are making snowflakes, even in Norway," said Angie Schroedel who organized the event along with Lora Rampino. “Our hope is to ease the anxiety, even a small fraction, that the student, the staff, and the parents will be feeling. Especially the parents as they release their children to the care of the school again. All of us, as parents, cannot imagine the horror all those parents are feeling,” she said.
