Lake Zurich Quarterback Club encourages fans to come to Saturday’s quarterfinal varsity football game.

The Lake Zurich Quarterback Club is aiming to get as many fans as possible to support the Bears in their annual quest for the IHSA Class 7A State Championship. “This Saturday’s IHSA Class 7A Quarterfinal game versus Rockford Boylan HS will most likely be the final home game of the season (the IHSA Class 7A Semifinal game would most likely be on the road) and thus the final home game for the LZHS senior football players,” said John Schnecker of the Quarteback Club. Game time is 1 p.m. Purchase tickets at the LZHS Athletic Dept. starting on Tuesday-Friday from 8 a.m.-noon and 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 and no passes will be accepted.   No grills are allowed on school property and the gates will open at 11:30 a.m.   The Lake Zurich …

Lake Zurich Bears Football to Start Playoffs

First Playoff game is Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m.

The Lake Zurich Quarterback Club has been busy “painting the town” with banners and Bears décor in support of the Lake Zurich High School Bears.  The Bears won their last regular season game against Warren Township, 17-13. See story in the Daily Herald.  That resulted in a share of the North Suburban Conference Lake Division championship with Stevenson. “This is the 11th straight year of playoff appearances for the Bears,” said John Schnecker of the Quarterback Club.  “The town will remain painted for as long as the team is in playoffs. This really brings the community together.” Schecker is expecting a huge turnout for Saturday’s game at LZHS. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Lake Zurich’s ended the year with a 7-2 record.
