Former Park Employee Sues Lake Zurich Alleging Sexual Harassment

Woman files complaint suing village for more than $450,000.

A former Lake Zurich parks and recreation employee is suing the village of Lake Zurich for more than $450,000 for alleged sexual harassment and age discrimination, according to the Chicago Tribune.   Cindy Walter, who worked for the village for 14 years, alleges she was sexually harassed by Mike Perkins, former director of parks and recreation, in a complaint filed in Lake County court last week, according to the Tribune. Walter was fired by the village in 2010. Perkins left the village last summer. His reason for leaving was that he and his family lived in the Rockford area and the commute was too long, according to Village President Suzanne Branding, in a previous interview.
