Students earn perfect scores at Illinois Grade School Music Association’s District 8 Solo & Ensemble Contest.

Lake Zurich Middle School North band, orchestra, and chorus students participated in the annual IGSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest, on Saturday, Feb 9. This year’s contest was hosted at Deerpath Middle School in Lake Forest. Sixteen schools participated, with over 1,000 pieces being performed. When the students arrived at Deerpath Middle School, they were greeted by hundreds of other student musicians from schools in the northwest suburbs. Performances were held in classrooms with a judge, who rated students on intonation, rhythm, stage presentation, and musicianship.
