Kildeer Police Reports: Theft of Road Sign, Traffic Arrest

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Driving While License Suspended Police arrest James V. Cronnelly, 48, 1085 Partridge Ln., Lake Zurich was arrested on April 8, at Rte. 12 and Quentin Rd. He was charged with improper land usage, driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance.  He was released on a $1.500 bond and has a Mundelein court date on May 23 .   Phone Harassment Police received a complaint on April 10 of telephone harassment at Sound & Video Consultants, 20866 Rand Rd., Kildeer.   Theft of Roadway Sign Police took a report on April 11, of theft of a roadway sign at Rte. 12 by Kildeer Marketplace.

DUI, Perfume Theft: Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer Police Blotter

      Hawthorn Woods  DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED  Anishae V. Elliott, 24, 24224 Old McHenry Rd., Lake Zurich was arrested  during a traffic stop at Main Street., and Old McHenry Road, March 6. She was charged with no proof of insurance and driving while license suspended/revoked. She was released on a personal recognizance and has a Mundelein court date of March 28.  DUI  Craig R. Scarton, 27, 240 Whitney Rd., Lake Zurich, was stopped by for speeding by police at Midlothian and Gilmer Roads, March 6. He was charged with DUI-alcohol, driving with a BAC of .08, possession of cannabis, and speeding. He was released after posting his driver’s license. Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Traffic Arrests

  Kildeer Identity Theft  Kildeer police charged Michael Carson-Sulzer, 21, 595 Vernon Lane, Bufffalo Grove, with credit card fraud and identity theft, on Jan. 12. According to the Kildeer police, Carson-Sulzer used a customer’s credit card fraudulently. The loss was $8,000. Retail Theft On Jan. 17, Kildeer police charged Donna J. Stull, 59, 328 Lake St., Crystal Lake with retail theft. Stull was releasedon 10 percent of a $1,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 28 in Mundelein. Hawthorn Woods Traffic Arrest Hawthorn Woods police charged Martha Herrera, 31, 350 S. Main St., Wauconda,  with speeding, no proof of insurance, no valid drivers license, on Jan. 2, at Old McHenry Road and Abbey Glen. She was released on a personal recognizance bond…

Whole Foods Kildeer Location Opens Soon

New grocery is about 10,000 square feet larger than Palatine location.

  The new Whole Foods Market, 20281 N. Rand Rd., Kildeer, will open on March 6. The destination grocer, focusing on organic and sustainable products, will hold an Opening Ceremony and doors will open at 9 a.m. Kildeer Village Manager Michael Talbett said Whole Foods store openings are a big event with people waiting in line for hours to get in.  Opening day details are still being worked out, said Tanya Kostetsky, marketing & community relations specialist for Whole Foods.   “We will definitely be providing food, refreshments and entertainment to make the opening morning be a celebration for the community. Deer Park Claims Kildeer Police Damages of $1.6 Million

Lawsuit claims Kildeer did not not perform police services paid for by Deer Park.

  Deer Park is claiming that the village paid at least $1.1 million and possibly in excess of $1.6 million for police services to Kildeer that were not performed, according to Trustee of Public Safety for Deer Park, Jim Denny.  The damages’ figure is based on recent testimony from expert witnesses, said Denny.  Deer Park’s lawsuit against Kildeer for breach of contract and fraud was first filed in Lake County Circuit Court in March of 2012; Deer Park terminated its contract for police service in November of 2011 and switched to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer Police Blotters: Driving Without a License

  Kildeer   No Valid Drivers License On Dec. 29, at 2:42 p.m., Kildeer police stopped Florez Jose Lidoin-Sanchez, 20177 Rte. 22, Kildeer, at 20177 Main St., Kildeer. He was charged with speeding and driving without a valid license. He was released on a $1,500 bond and has a Jan. 24 court date in Mundelein.   Driving on Suspended/Revoked License On Jan. 3, at 4:27 p.m., police stopped Wilma Torres, 31, of 63 LeJardin Ct., Buffalo Grove, at Long Grove Road and Middleton Drive. She was charged with driving while license suspended/revoked, speeding and expired registration.   Retail Fraud On Dec. 31, police received a call that a suspect attempted to purchase an item with a switched UPC code at 20771 N. Village Board Race Uncontested in Kildeer

Four people run for four seats.

There are no challengers to incumbent village board members in Kildeer for the April 9 election. Running unopposed, according to Village Administrator Michael Talbett, are: Nandia P. Black, village president; Ralph A. Liberatore, village trustee; Barbara R. Stavropoulos, village trustee; and Basel Tarabein, village trustee.

Kildeer Burglary to Motor Vehicle Police responded to a complaint, Dec. 14, on Providence Drive that someone had taken power tools from inside the vehicle.   No Valid Drivers License On Dec. 19, Kildeer police made a speeding traffic stop at Middleton Drive and Long Grove Road. Pawl Krajewski, 3019 N. Linder Ave., Chicago was charged with no valid drivers license and speeding. He was released on a $1,500 bond and has a Jan. 24 court date in Mundelein.   Hawthorn Woods No Valid Drivers License On Dec. 10, police made a traffic stop at Old McHenry Road and Abbey Glen. Smoke Alarm Minimizes Impact From Kildeer Garage Fire

Three dogs removed from home; no injuries.

    A private alarm system alerted Lake Zurich Fire/Rescue to a Kildeer garage fire in the early stages, minimizing damage, Wednesday afternoon. “If they didn’t have an alarm. We wouldn’t have seen the smoke until it broke through and then it would have been much worse,” said Lake Zurich Fire Chief David Wheelock. Lake Zurich Fire responded to the residential fire alarm at 21801 Cambridge Dr., Kildeer at 2:01 p.m. The first unit arrived on the scene and reported smoke stain around the garage door and that it was hot to the touch, according to the fire department news release.
