Lake Zurich Picks Up Island Lake Dispatch
Additional dispatch revenue to make up for loss of service to Deer Park.
The Lake Zurich Village Board approved a plan to provide police dispatch services for the village of Island Lake, at Monday’s village board meeting. The Lake Zurich Public Safety Answering Point/ Dispatch Center currently has a contract to provide dispatch for Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer. However, when Kildeer lost its contract with Deer Park for police services, the number of dispatch calls were reduced; this resulted in a loss of revenue for Lake Zurich. Lake Zurich Police Chief Patrick Finlon said it was good opportunity to make up for the shortfall; he said the revenue should be a little more than the revenue lost from Deer Park.
