Comfort Dogs thanked for service with a new van, spa treatment.
Our own local celebrity dog, Ladel, from St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods, was on Good Morning America, yesterday. The Comfort Dogs, based out of Lutheran Church Charities in Addison, have been busy providing love and comfort in Boston, Newtown and wherever needed. Yesterday, the Comfort dogs were in the spotlight on Good Morning America’s You’re Not Dreaming. The dogs received treats, and spa gift certificates. Hertz will provide the dogs with a free van for one year to get the dogs where they are needed. Hawthorn Woods DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED Anishae V. Elliott, 24, 24224 Old McHenry Rd., Lake Zurich was arrested during a traffic stop at Main Street., and Old McHenry Road, March 6. She was charged with no proof of insurance and driving while license suspended/revoked. She was released on a personal recognizance and has a Mundelein court date of March 28. DUI Craig R. Scarton, 27, 240 Whitney Rd., Lake Zurich, was stopped by for speeding by police at Midlothian and Gilmer Roads, March 6. He was charged with DUI-alcohol, driving with a BAC of .08, possession of cannabis, and speeding. He was released after posting his driver’s license. He has a Waukegan court date of April 24. Kildeer Identity Theft Kildeer police charged Michael Carson-Sulzer, 21, 595 Vernon Lane, Bufffalo Grove, with credit card fraud and identity theft, on Jan. 12. According to the Kildeer police, Carson-Sulzer used a customer’s credit card fraudulently. The loss was $8,000. Retail Theft On Jan. 17, Kildeer police charged Donna J. Stull, 59, 328 Lake St., Crystal Lake with retail theft. Stull was releasedon 10 percent of a $1,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 28 in Mundelein. Hawthorn Woods Traffic Arrest Hawthorn Woods police charged Martha Herrera, 31, 350 S. Kildeer No Valid Drivers License On Dec. 29, at 2:42 p.m., Kildeer police stopped Florez Jose Lidoin-Sanchez, 20177 Rte. 22, Kildeer, at 20177 Main St., Kildeer. Mayor's seat and three trustees are up for re-election.
No challengers came forward in Hawthorn Woods on Dec. 26, the last day to file for the April 9 election. There are just three running for the three village trustee seats--incumbents Kelly Dobbs Corrigan, Peter J. Ponzio , and Neil Morgan, according to Deputy Village Clerk Sandy Hansen. Mayor Joseph Mancino is also uncontested. In Lake Zurich, there are 13 candidates running for six seats.

Kildeer Burglary to Motor Vehicle Police responded to a complaint, Dec. 14, on Providence Drive that someone had taken power tools from inside the vehicle. No Valid Drivers License On Dec. 19, Kildeer police made a speeding traffic stop at Middleton Drive and Long Grove Road. Pawl Krajewski, 3019 N. DUI Karen A. Guss, 53, 747 Huntington Dr., Lake Zurich was arrested at 10”13 p.m. Nov. 16, at 23565 N. Quentin Rd., and charged with failure to reduce speed, leaving the scene of an accident, DUI-alcohol and driving with a BAC of .08. Guss hit the other vehicle from behind traveling southbound on Quentin Road, according to Hawthorn Woods records supervisor Jan Filenko. The driver of the other vehicle lost control and went off the roadway. The offending vehicle continued southbound on Quentin Rd. The license plate had fallen off her vehicle after the accident so they were able to locate her, according to Filenko. She was charged with improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed, DUI-alcohol, driving with BAC over .08. She was released on a $100 cash bond. Driving While License Suspended/Revoked On Oct. 5, at 5:09 p.m., police arrested Ana C. Huicochea, 22, 24241 N. Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, at Old McHenry Road adn Redwood Lane. The following news release was submitted by Friedlander Communications Ltd., the public relations firm representing the Village of North Barrington. The Lake County Board Tuesday (October 9, 2012) passed a resolution by a vote of 23 to 0 to approve a plan for a potential shopping center, local community activity center and offices on the controversial 108.75 acres of land known as the Dimucci Family Property at Rand and Old McHenry roads. Strict requirements were placed on the Dimucci family about what can go onto 53 acres of the land with the remainder to be held forever as open space. It currently is available as farm land.
