New restaurant takes over former Bennigan's location.
A new '50s style steakhouse with a family slant will be taking over the old Bennigans location by the end of October. Beelow's Steakhouse, 763 S. Rand Rd., will offer a fine dining experience at reasonable prices, complete with white tablecloths and a chef that cooks steaks to order as you watch. And owner Dan Beelow is taking a unique approach to hometown fare. Beelow grew up on his family farm in Mundelein, and says he decided to create Beelow's to "be a place where steaks are cooked as good as they are at home." He also says he plans to introduce his two teenage children to the business.
