Fire Department Responds to Lake Zurich Basement Fire

Fire Chief David Wheelock reports that there were no injuries.

9 p.m., March 30 The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department responded to a residential structure fire at 173 Parkway Ave in the Village of Lake Zurich, at 8:19 a.m., according to a news release from the fire department.  Upon arrival, the first fire unit reported visible smoke from the front of a one story single family home. Residents of the home were located outside the structure and reported everyone was out of the home. The fire was located in the basement laundry room and was under control/extinguished at 8:37. The home suffered fire and smoke damage and at this time is uninhabitable.   One of the residents stated she noticed the smoke when she arrived home from work and evacuated the other members that were sleeping at the time. Deer Park Basement Fire Quickly Extinguished

Lake Zurich Fire Rescue responded to fire on Sumac Court this morning.

A basement fire in Deer Park, this morning, was extinguished within 10 minutes of firefighter's arrival on the scene, however the home had significant smoke damage, according to David Pilgard, of Lake Zurich Fire Rescue. Lake Zurich responded to 21452 Sumac Court in Deer Park, at 9:06 a.m., after homeowners smelled smoke. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the first-due officer reported visible smoke from the first floor front door with all occupants and animals accounted for, according to the news release from Lake Zurich Fire Rescue. Upon entering the lower level, the fire officer reported that a sectional couch was on fire.
