Thousands Expected at Barrington Hills Annual Polo Match
The 2012 LeCompte Kalaway Landowner's Cup is taking place Sept. 8.
The Barrington Hills Polo Club and the Riding Club of Barrington Hills are gearing up for the 8th annual LeCompte Kalaway Landowners Cup on Sept. 8 at 12 p.m. The annual event started in 2005 when the Polo Club decided to do something to say thank you to the Riding Club and the landowners of the Barrington Hills riding trails. These landowners help compose the nearly 200 miles of private riding trails in the area that connect with the Cook County Forest Preserve. “Historically, the idea was that no matter where you lived in Barrington Hills, you could climb on your horse and go visit anyone else that lives in Barrington Hills,” said John Rosene of the Barrington Hills Polo Club. “These trail landowners may not have horses themselves or be …
