Village of Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department 200 S Rand Rd, Lake Zurich, IL60047 What is responsible for 234.5 acres of land divided amongst 32 parks, as well as recreation activities and events? Well,…More it's the Village of Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department, of course. Housed in a building called the Barn, the department is a part of the village government instead of a separate park district. The Barn was once in a model home office in the Old Mill Grove subdivision, but was later moved and placed in its present location to serve as the department's headquarters. Preschool classes are held in the basement of the Barn and there's a Safety Town out back.
Buffalo Creek Park has several soccer fields, a walking path, playground equipment and picnic tables. The space…More also boasts indoor factilities that can be rented by the hour from the Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department. The parking lot can hold up to 60 vehicles.
Henry J. Paulus Park is the centerpiece of the Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department and perhaps of the…More community. Michael J. Perkins is its director. In addition to many enticing attractions, it hosts an array of events each year, such as the Fourth of July fireworks. Take a stroll along its paths and you may happen upon some geese. There are several places along the paths to stop and take in glimpses of Lake Zurich. The beach has a children's water park adjacent to it as well as wooden playground equipment. Don't forget to visit the concession stand for some refreshments.
Elsewhere in the park, there is a covered pavilion with seating, perfect for evening concerts. Play horseshoes or volleyball, if you like, or just picnic under one of the pavilions or benches. If that's not enough, there's a skateboarding area and a sled hill. The parking lot holds up to 150 vehicles.
