Venetian-Inspired Cicchetti is Now Open

In this week's Dining Destination: a restaurant inspired by Venice's famous Harry's Bar has just opened its doors off Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.

Cicchetti, the Venetian-inspired restaurant opened by Dan Rosenthal, is officially open.

The menu, according to Chicago Eater, is inspired by the famous Venice hot spot Harry's Bar. It's located at 671 North St. Clair in Chicago, just off of Michigan Ave.

The restaurant's Executive Chef is Mike Sheerin, who originally hails from Chicago, according to Cicchetti's Facebook page. He recently opened Trencherman with his brother Pat, after working at several New York restaurants. He also worked as a sous chef at Wd 50 for four years, and was the first chef de cuisine at Blackbird. Sheerlin was recognized as one of the "Best New Chefs" by Food and Wine Magazine in 2010.

The interior design is the first newly-constructed Green Seal restaurant in the city and features wood beams and large windows.

Cicchetti's menu features everything from Scrambled Egg Agnolotti to Venetian Seafood Stew, and a dessert menu that includes both gelati and cakes.

The restaurant also has an extensive bar menu, and offers cocktails, hard liquor and wines for every price range (including a $215 bottle of Brunello Di Montalcino).

Every diner receives a complimentary glass of homemade limoncello at the end of their meal, according to an article by Eater

Cicchetti is open for lunch and dinner.
