Lake Zurich is the Place for Halloween Fun

Weekend events for kids and adults this Halloween weekend.

It's Halloween weekend and there's a lot of options for families to enjoy.

Monster Bash at the Park

Lake Zurich Parks and Recreation is hosting a Monster Bash from 12 to 3 p.m.  Saturday, October 26 at the Paulus Park Barn.  Children can come in costume and enjoy carnival games with prizes and candy, face painting and refreshments.  Pre-registration is not required for this event.

The Haunting

Come to the Ela Area Public Library for an hour of chilling tales, horror stories, eerie history and some inexplicable, supernatural occurrences from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 26. Storyteller William Pack will have you on the edge of your seat during this virtuoso storytelling experience that will simulate an authentic haunting. Afterward, you will debate if the ghosts were real or not. Geared for teens and adults only. Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit www.eapl.org or call 847-438-3433.

Trunk Or Treat

St. Peter United Church of Christ, 47 Church St., is hosting Trunk or Treat at 11 a.m. Sunday, October 27. This is a family event to celebrate Hallowe'en. Children are encouraged to come in costume, and adults are encouraged to decorate the trunks of their cars and give handouts. There will be games, hayrides, pizza and other surprises. A Jack-O-Lantern contest will also be held, so bring your pumpkin to put in the display. Those attending are asked to bring a canned food item for the Thanksgiving food drive. A free-will contribution will also be accepted.

Extreme haunt

"The Kill on Old Mill" in Lake Zurich is a haunted house that will give you a good scare. The house, at 115 Old Mill Grove Road, has a yard display that can be viewed throughout the month. Visitors are asked to bring non-perishable food products for people or pets.
