LZ District 95 Helps Kindergarteners Learn Bus Safety

School starts in one week and kindergarteners will get a bus orientation.

Going to kindergarten is a big step that’s accompanied by riding the school bus for the first time.

Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 is inviting parents and new kindergarten students to participate in an orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Orientation for both morning and all day kindergarten students will begin at noon and will end at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Orientation for afternoon kindergarten students will begin at 1 p.m. and will end at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Parents and students will meet the bus at the student’s elementary school. The orientation is for students only, no siblings are allowed.

The driver will introduce herself/himself, familiarize the students with the bus safety rules and take the passengers for a short ride on the school bus. Each child will receive a bus safety coloring book.

The district is also holding a make-up District-Wide Residency Event on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at Lake Zurich High School, 300 Church St., Lake Zurich.
