Waterspouts Reported on Lake Michigan

The waterspouts were sighted near Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie and Winthrop Harbor.

Waterspouts were reported on Lake Michigan today near Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie in Wisconsin, and in Winthrop Harbor, IL.

The waterspouts were reported by trained spotters and police officials, according to the National Weather Service. Also known as a tornado over water, the waterspouts were spawned by a storm that moved over the lake. A special marine warning remains in effect until 5:15 p.m. along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
