Summer Camp Guide for Barrington, Lake Zurich Area

Enrollment is starting soon for many summer camps. Here are just a few of the many summer camps available in and around Lake Zurich and Barrington.

With the choice and variety of summer camps available in the northwest suburbs in 2013, boredom won't be an option for Lake Zurich-Barrington area children.

 

Chicago Bears Youth Football Camp

Where: Barbara Rose Elementary School, 61 W. Penny Rd., Barrington

Information: Chicago Bears Youth Football Camps provide non-contact instruction to kids from ages 6 to 14 years old. With professional coaches and Chicago Bears heroes, kids learn to run, throw, catch, defend and compete the Bears way. All programs provide football non-contact instruction, athletic skill development, fitness and agility training. Runs July 15-19.

Lake Barrrington Fieldhouse Summer Camps

 Where: Lake Barrington Fieldhouse, Lake Barrington

 Information: Full and half-day options include a variety of sport camps and tot camp.

Montessori Children’s House Summer Camp

Where: Montessori Children’s House, North Barrington 

Information: Offers art to sports and games to academic work in the Montessori classrooms, Also includes swim lessons at the Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center. Birth to 7 years old.

South Barrington Park District Kids Kamp

Where: South Barrington Community Center, 3 Tennis Club Lane, South Barrington

Information: Kids Kamp is a summer program for ages 3 to 5 that includes field trips, recreational swim time, summer arts and crafts, and lots of fun in the summer sun!  This is the perfect summer program for children ages three through five. 

Flexible scheduling options include full day and half day programs.

Citizens for Conservation Camp

Where: CFC Headquarters, 459 West Highway 22, Lake Barrington

Information: Beginning Naturalists is for children 4-5 and uses Citizens for Conservation’s own “Junior Naturalist” activity books, a maximum of twenty children will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about nature through hiking our prairie and woodland at Citizens for Conservation-owned Flint Creek Savanna. Beyond the Lab Field Explorations for Curious Children is for children entering first and second grades.

Lake County Forest Preserve Summer Camps 

Where: Numerous sites including Fox River in Barrington and Lakewood in Wauconda. 

Information: Enjoy adventures in nature, art, fishing, history, and much more

Lake County Forest Preserve Summer Camps are designed for summer fun and learning.

Foglia YMCA Summer Day Camp

Where: Foglia YMCA,  1025 Old McHenry Rd., Lake Zurich 

Information: Campers will experience new things, develop new skills, and have fun along the way. An environment is created where campers are active, learning, laughing, and are made to feel special. Many options include sports and teen camps.

Kits Sports Center 

Where: Kits Sports Center, 325 Surryse Road, Lake Zurich

Information:  Offers a variety of sports camps all summer long - They include all sports, soccer, flag football, basketball, dodgeball, floor hockey, and archery.

JCC Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp

Where: 23280 North Old McHenry Road, Lake Zurich

Information: JCC Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp spans 37 beautiful acres. The state-of-the-art facility, the Garoon Gateway to Science and optional bus service. .Children explore sports, nature and cultural arts while expanding their interests, making lifelong friendships and developing greater independence. For 3 years to 10th grade.

Go Hardball Training Academy

Where: Training site, 100 Oakwood Rd, Lake Zurich; Lions Park in Lake Zurich

Information: Small group camps will focus on fundamentals such as hand-eye coordination, balance, base running, hitting, throwing, and fielding. Players will learn new terminology and play fun, baseball-themed games to improve their skills and get out of the house.  Camps will be offered for ages K-5th grade.
