Forest Lake 4th of July 5K to Benefit Wounded Warrior Project

An awards ceremony and celebration will follow the race.

The fundraiser has already received a $2,000 donation from the Volkswagen Group of America.

The inaugural Forest Lake 5K Run/1K family walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project will take place on July 4, 8 a.m., at the community center, 24127 N. Forest Drive. 

Participants should register via email to meganemcdowell@yahoo.com prior to July 1.  A donation of at least $20 is suggested per runner or family interested in participating.  Go to the Forest Lake Community web page to make donations or participants can bring a check the day of the race made out to the Wounded Warrior Project.

 A waiver must be completed for each participant.  Please print the waiver below and bring the day of the race.  There will be copies on hand the day of the race.  Registration will begin at 7:15 a.m.. 

Volunteers are needed to help the day of the race.  Please contact Megan McDowell before July 1 if interested in helping.  They are accepting donations of water, Gatorade or granola bars.  Please email or call Megan McDowell if you plan on donating any food/drinks for the event.  Drop them off at the community center the day of the race or at 24127 N. Forest Drive prior to the race.  There will also be a post-race celebration and awards ceremony immediately following.
