U17 Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Season Underway

The team beat Wheaton on Sept. 18.

After a successful tournament in Palatine Labor Day weekend, where they lost a heartbreaker in the semifinals while playing down a player, the U17 Hawthorn Woods Elite soccer team took to the field again, this time on their home field at Hawthorn Community Park in Hawthorne Woods Sept. 14. What a game it was.

The U17 team's first home game went right according to plan. The final score against Sports Club United of Schaumburg was 3-0, with contributions from Jorden Jackson (two goals) and Brianne Carlson (one goal), along with some great saves by goalie Abby Gary
to complete the shutout with dwindling daylight.

The team played the Celtic FC Soccer Club Sept. 17 and tied 1-1. HWE then beat CFJ in Wheaton 2-1 on Sept. 18.

Hawthorn Woods Elite is coached by Tom Chmela & Randy Derousse.
