U10 Girls Red Named Ela Soccer Team of the Year

It was a full house at Ela Soccer Club's First Annual Awards Night.



held its 1st Annual Awards Night, May 7,  at to an overwhelming crowd nearly 1,000 players, coaches, parents, family members and friends. “To see our players filled with pride, excitement and enthusiasm brought home what a great club we have” said Jackie Marais, Ela Soccer Club's executive director

Individual awards were presented to each team, for Players’ Player, Most Improved Player and Player of the year.  Players were also selected to represent an honorary Ela First XI team. All award winners are posted on the Ela Soccer Club's website. 

 

The U10 Girls Red team beat out the U13 Boys Elite and U15 Girls Elite to take the team of the year award. This team coached by Gin Sharma, director of coaching has had a successful season thus far, taking 1st place in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League, 1st place in the Libertyville Octoberfest Tournament, and second place in the Schaumberg Soccer Fest and Palatine Celtic Cup tournaments. The team also took first place in the Soccer City Indoor League and runners up in the Lake Barrington Indoor League.

The crowd came to their feet as Gin Sharma, Ela Soccer Club's director of coaching, gave out the "Club Comeback Player of the Year" award to Alyson Kee for showing great strength and courage to overcome illness and get back on the field.


To finish the evening, Jackie Marais, gave out the "Club Person of the Year" award to Susie Bobrowski for representing the spirit of the club with her constant enthusiasm, positivity and support.

Ela Soccer Club with over 1,200 players is the Lake Zurich area's largest and oldest youth soccer organization. Ela Soccer, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization has over 20 years of providing youth soccer programs from Recreational Programs starting at 3 year olds to Elite National Level Programs for older youth. More than 100 Ela Soccer players have gone on to play soccer in college. Ela Soccer's coaching staff is one of the best in the country boosting former collegiate coaches along with Professional and Collegiate players; all of whom hold US Soccer National Coaching Licenses.
