Lake Zurich Moves on to Quarterfinals

The top-seeded Lake Zurich High School varsity football team will be moving on to the quarterfinals of the Class 7A playoffs, according to the Illinois High School Association.

Lake Zurich's 20-0 win over Rockton Hononegah (8-3) on Saturday marked the defense's "fourth shutout of the season," and ended Rockton Hononegah's season "in the second round for the second year in a row," according to the Daily Herald.

A strong crosswind did not stop Lake Zurich quarterback Noah Allgood from completing two touchdown passes and the team's defense was able to stop "Rockton Hononegah's running game," according to the Chicago Tribune.

Lake Zurich (10-1) will take on Wheaton North High School in the quarterfinals of the playoffs at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Wheaton North, according to the IHSA and the Chicago Tribune
