Lake Zurich officials will discuss approving a three-year deal to host the Iron Girl Triathlon, the Daily Herald reports.
The women-only triathlon event is scheduled for June 16 this year at Paulus Park. If officials approve the agreement, the triathlon will return in 2014 and 2015. At least 400 women are already registered to participate in this summer’s event. Mayor Thomas Poynton tells the Daily Herald he hopes the event will fill up the Lake Zurich Holiday Inn and provide more business for area restaurants.
