Heavyweight Big 10 Posts First Win of Season
Flames Youth Football Team Defeats Crystal Lake 18-14.
The Lake Zurich Flames Heavyweight Big10 team won 18-14 against Crystal Lake on Saturday, Sept. 11, for their first win of the season.
In the first quarter, Flames outside linebacker Ben Klett made an interception and ran it back 40 yards for a touchdown. Two plays later, free safety Tyler Gray made another interception that led to a 19-yard touchdown run by running back Zane Lodico.
In the second half, Lake Zurich's defense was led by middle-linebacker Tommy Clancy who made a key fumble recovery on Lake Zurich's three-yard line, as well as making an interception late in the fourth quarter.
