ELA Junior Bears Help Financially-Strapped Families Join Team

The Ela Junior Bear, a new Lake Zurich-area football team, is giving children ages 5 to 13 years old the chance to play even if there family is not able to pay the $325 in fees to sign up, according to the Daily Herald.

The team was started by Will Juarez and John Barrington after the Lake Zurich Flames decided to leave The Chicagoland Youth Football League and the league agreed to support the new team, according to the article.

The team works on a bare bones budget, which allowed them to reduce registration fees from $425 to $325, and families have offered to sponsor players whose parents can not afford the fees while Dick's sporting goods has donated some of the equipment needed, according to the Daily Herald.
