U of I Wind Symphony to Perform at LZHS

The concert will be held on Friday, Dec. 7.

On Friday, Dec. 7th, the University of Illinois Wind Symphony will be performing at Lake Zurich High School. The Wind Symphony is U of I’s top ensemble. Lake Zurich Bands are honored to have them come and share their music locally. The community will also welcome Lake Zurich High School Alumni Jared Cooney back to his alma mater as he is a member of the ensemble on clarinet.

The concert will begin on Friday at 7:30 in Lake Zurich's Performing Arts Center. The Wind Symphony is under the direction of Robert Rumbelow, head band director at University of Illinois. Music to be performed on the concert includes Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy and Aaron Copland’s moving A Lincoln Portrait.

The public is invited to attend this concert. In an effort to encourage students to attend the concert the cover charge is only $5 for adults, and $1 for students. Tickets will be available at the door.
