Three-Year Contract Approved for CLC President

The college's board of trustees approved the contract at March 27 meeting.

The College of Lake County Board of Trustees approved a new three-year contract for President Jerry W. Weber, who became president in April of 2009. The action was taken at the regularly scheduled monthly meeting held March 27 at the Southlake Campus in Vernon Hills.

“Dr. Weber has provided forward-thinking leadership for the college,” said Board Chairman Dr. William M. Griffin following the meeting. Griffin praised Weber for leading the college in the development of a comprehensive strategic plan and operational plans for such areas as finance and technology as well as his advocacy for sustainability initiatives such as new curriculum development and leadership in the Illinois Green Economy Network, a consortium of community colleges.

Weber’s current contract ends on March 30, 2013. The new contract, effective April 1, 2012, ends on March 31, 2015. He will receive a 2.5 percent increase in pay starting April 1, 2012, bringing his base annual salary to $236,391.

“CLC is all about helping students gain the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their goals. I’m honored to be the president of a college that is constantly challenging itself to do more to help students succeed,” Weber said.
