Superintendent Gets New Contract, $1.4 Million in Summer Projects OK
Lake Zurich District 95 votes in board leaders.
District 95 Superintendant Michael J. Egan’s two-year contract has been extended for an additional three years.
“He has seen our district through hard times and we’d like to extend a contract that will go for three years,” said Kathy Brown, board president.
The board voted on the three-year extension unanimously.

Each board member spoke to Egan, offering thanks.
“It’s been a pleasure working with you and we are very thankful for your services,” said Doug Goldberg, board member.

Egan responded, “Thank you, I look forward to three more years.”
New and current Board of Education President, Vice-President, and Secretary Voted In
The 2009-2011 Board of Education was adjourned and newly elected incumbents, Jim Burke, Doug Goldberg, and Tony Pietro, took the oath of office for the 2011-2013 Board of Education.
Nominations for the president, vice-president, and secretary for the 2011-2013 Board of Education were named as Kathy Brown, president, Doug Goldberg, vice-president, and Kathleen Wallis, secretary.
Doug Goldberg replaced and was nominated by John Kropf, former board vice president.
The board voted unanimously on the new positions.
Summer Work Projects
The administration presented $1,484,318 in projects district-wide to be completed during the summer.
The Board of Education unanimously approved all three projects.
Roofing - All American Roofing
The district will have roofing work performed at Sarah Adams and Lake Zurich High School, as well as district roof maintenance. The metal wall panels in Sarah Adams will be replaced as well as the LZHS metal wall panels above the library. Total cost for those projects is $839,768
Fire Alarm – Associated Electric
The district will replace fire alarm systems at Sarah Adams and Fox/South with voice alarm for $236,900.
Various Projects – Driessen Construction
Projects that will be performed by Driessen Construction will total $407,650. These include floors, hallways and smaller general projects at Seth Paine, installation of a Building Automation System (BAS) at Sarah Adams, and installation of stadium emergency lighting and reworking of stadium electric panel and riser at LZHS.
