Open Auditions for CLC's 'Les Liaisons Dangereuses'

Ten actors are needed for the cast of the stage presentation of the 18th-century French novel, which will take the stage November 9-17.

Auditions for the College of Lake County Theatre Department’s fall production of “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” (“The Dangerous Liaisons”) will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 17 and 18. Auditions will take place in the Studio Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts on the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Six women and four men age 18 and over are needed for the cast. Actors should prepare a 90-second memorized monologue from the play of their choice. Actors need only attend one audition night, and they should bring an acting resume if available. Callbacks will be held from 6:30-10 p.m., on Sept. 20.

In this acclaimed adaptation of the scandalous 18th-century French novel, two former lovers play a decadent game of intrigue and seduction. But what begins as an amorous amusement escalates into a brutal battle where love and sex become the weapons of war. Copies of the play are available at the LRC circulation desk for in-library reading.
