New District 95 Board Member Selected

New board member will officially be sworn in Thursday night.

During a special meeting last Thursday night, Jan. 5, the Board of Education selected Kildeer resident Lisa Warren to fill the remainder of the term of , who stepped down due to his relocation outside of the school district’s boundaries.

Warren will be sworn in at the board’s Jan. 12 Committee of the Whole meeting, and will serve at least until the seat comes up for election in April 2013. The board selected Warren after interviewing all community members who had applied for this position.

"The Board sincerely appreciates the time and effort of the community members who offered to step into this position. All of the candidates were highly-qualified, and we felt that any of them would have been a valuable addition to the board. In the end, Lisa's business background and extensive service within the District 95 community made her stand out as the candidate who can make the most smooth and seamless transition onto the board. We look forward to having Lisa on the Board," said Board of Education President Kathy Brown.

Warren has served in a variety of capacities across the district including executive Board leadership on the PTOs for Charles Quentin, Isaac Fox, and Middle School South. She also serves as a trustee on the School District 95 Educational Foundation.

“I am honored to be selected to serve on the board of education and I look forward to the opportunity to serve the district in this new role,” said Warren.
