Middle School Wrestlers Place in State Tournament
Two Middle School North and one Middle School South fare well in competition.
Three Lake Zurich middle school wrestlers fared well at the recent Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State Wrestling Tournament held at the Convocation Center at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
Bryce Kapitzky and Ethan Honegger of Middle School North and Tommy Clancy of Middle School South placed in the state tournament. Kapitzky, 7th grade, took 4th palce in the 112 pound weight class. Honegger, 8th grade, finished 4th in the 90 pound weight class. Clancy, 8th grade, placed 6th in the 145 pound weight class.
Out of a field of 24, in each of in their respective weight classes, the wrestlers had to finish in the top six to place in the state tournament.
