Lake Zurich High School to Hold Health Care Career Fair

The inaugural event will feature people from a variety of health care professions.

is gearing up to hold its first Health Care Career Fair that will allow students to meet with people who work in areas like nursing, physical therapy, radiology and respiratory therapy.

"We continue to have a lot of students interested in health care careers," career mentor Diane Willock said of the reason for the fair.

Willock said many students have expressed an interest in becoming physicians, but "there are so many other health care careers right now."

At the career fair, slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 14, students can learn about fields like medical records, chiropractic, veterinary, audiology, orthodontics, medical assisting and emergency medical technician. Willock added that representatives from some postsecondary institutions also will be available, including College of Lake County, Northern Illinois University, Harper College, Solex College and Computer Systems Institute-Health Care Program.

"We're very excited about it," said Willock. "I'm just trying to think of new ways to help these students."

Health care professionals who are interested in joining the career fair can contact Willock at 1-847-540-5476 or diane.willock@lz95.org.
