LZHS Student is National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar

Morgan Callard recognized for achievement.

Lake Zurich High School student Morgan Callard has been selected as a 2012-13 National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar.

According to the College Board, “the NHRP was initiated in 1983 to identify outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students. This year the NHRP is recognizing about 5,000 Hispanic/Latino students selected from a pool of over 253,000 who took the 2011 PSAT/NMSQT/PAATM. Students recognized by the NHRP are at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino (based on the program’s definition) and have achieved a minimum PSAT/NMSQT/PAATM score for their region.

Students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are designated as Scholars and those with GPAs of 3.0 to 3.49 are designated as Honorable Mentions.”

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
