Lake Zurich Band Members Delayed on Return Trip From Spain

The band was in Madrid to perform in a parade.

The recent weather wreaked havoc on travel plans for more than 75 Lake Zurich High School band members returning home after performing in Madrid, Spain this past Sunday, according to the Daily Herald. 

Their trek home began on Monday when one group flew out on a direct flight and landed in Chicago later that day while the other group's flight was cancelled, according to a blog post on the trip.

The group of 75 band members made it as far as John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on Tuesday with plans of flying out on Wednesday for O'Hare, according to the Daily Herald.

The band was in Sprain to march in the Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, or the Parade of the Three Kings, according to the Chicago Tribune.
