It’s game day and the Lake Zurich High School Bears will face Glenbard West at Glenbard South in Glen Ellyn today at 1 p.m.

This is the third time in three years that the two teams have met in semi-finals of the IHSA 7A playoffs.

Last season LZHS upset Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn in the 2nd round of the IHSA playoffs.   Back in 2009 Glenbard West defeated LZHS (at LZHS) in the IHSA Semifinal Game in the last 6-seconds of the game, according to the Quarterback Club’s John Schnecker.

In an interview with CSNChicago.com Coach Dave Profitt said Lake Zurich is all about teamwork.

"The word 'team' explains what Lake Zurich is all about this year. We have kids who are willing to make sacrifices for the good of the team like changing positions or play on the scout team to get the starters ready. We have 60 kids on the same page, trying to make each other better,” Profitt said.

“We're all willing to do anything to help each other, even outside of football. We form bonds during practice and in the off-season. We do everything as a team, not as individuals," said one of the team captains, Grant Soucy.
