Three families living in an unincorporated neighborhood between Long Grove and Lake Zurich were given permission Monday to switch from Lake Zurich Unit District 95 to the Kildeer-Countryside Elementary District 96 and Stevenson High School District 125, according to the Lake Zurich Courier.
The Lake County Regional Board of School Trustees voted on Monday to redraw its school district lines to allow Brian and Shelby Anstedt; Mark and Kristen Linnenburger; and Frank, Sally and Stephanie Mete — all who live on the 23000 block of North Hillcrest Drive — to join Kildeer-Countryside Elementary District 96 and Stevenson High School District 125, according to the article.
The Daily Herald reports the affected properties were surrounded by homeowners in the same neighborhood who sent their children to District 96 schools, which feeds students into Stevenson High School. The Lake Zurich Courier reports Mark Linnenburger said they wanted to see the change because the children in their neighborhood all grew up together.
