District 95 Commissions Study on Installing Air Conditioning

Parents petition Board of Education to look into providing air conditioning in schools.

Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 authorized a feasibility study to examine the cost, the code requirements and other issues related to installing air conditioning in five schools, according to the Lake Zurich Courier.

District 95 parent Andrea Trudeau started a petition asking the Board of Education to improve the air quality in schools, which includes installing air conditioning in the schools without it. The petition was started following the heat wave in August when students had to sit in classrooms where temperatures reached 90 or 100 degrees.

Trudeau has obtained more than 400 signatures and has created a blog post that has had more than 2,500 page views.
