Woodman's Plans Could Advance in 2012

Company may present the plan to Kildeer officials as a courtesy review next year.

Woodman's Markets could approach the village of Kildeer for a courtesy review in 2012.

Lake Zurich Village Administrator Bob Vitas updated the village board on the status of the potential project Monday night. , on the east side of Rand Road. Though technically located in Kildeer, the village of Lake Zurich would share in the store's sales tax revenues due to an annexation agreement.

Woodman's, however, wants to construct a signalized intersection on Rand Road. because it would be within a quarter mile of another intersection, which violates IDOT's guidelines.

Vitas said that after a series of meetings with the developers' engineers, a meeting was held with Woodman's representatives, their engineers, the property owners, Lake Zurich village staff and IDOT engineers. Vitas said IDOT officials were satisfied with the new access that was proposed for the site, which moves the intersection a little further to the south.

"It's looking as though that will come forward as courtesy review" with the village of Kildeer, Vitas said. A courtesy review is held before the plan is presented to the planning and zoning board.
