Village Board Approves Industrial Park Zoning Changes

The village is hoping the changes will draw more businesses to the northeast portion of Lake Zurich, according to media reports.

The Lake Zurich village board on Monday voted 3-2 to change industrial park zoning codes, such as the allowable height of buildings, with the hopes of drawing more businesses to the village, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Other changes include the combination of Lake Zurich's two industrial districts into one and decreasing the amount of landscape required for industrial park properties, which is a section of Lake Zurich located on the northeast portion of the village, according to the article.

One example of a business that is interested in expanding in Lake Zurich, but couldn't under a past 35-foot building height regulation, is online grocer, Peopod, which is one of the largest employers in the industrial park, according to the Lake Zurich Courier.
