Proclamation Honors Bears Football Team

Village Board recognizes varsity team's championship season.

The Lake Zurich High School varsity Bears football team, their coach Bryan Stortz and the high school itself were honored with a proclamation read at Monday night's Village Board meeting by Mayor Suzanne Branding.

Several members of the team and coach Stortz were welcomed at the meeting with a round of applause and received a standing ovation after the proclamation was read. They then shook hands with trustees and administration.

"...The Lake Zurich High School Varsity Football Team distinguished themselves with a 12-2 record and placing second in the Illinois High School State Class 7A Football Championship game," said Branding. "It was really something."
