Five local volunteers were praised by Lake Zurich Mayor Thomas Poynton at a recent village board meeting for their work on the new, village-sponsored weekly farmers market, which recently wrapped up its first summer season, according to the Daily Herald.
The volunteers recognized were: Kevin Koch, Janet Barron, Mary Beth Euker, Susan Miller and Beth Slaughter, according to the article. Hundreds visited the farmers market and on the first day of the market, some vendors ran out of food, according to the Daily Herald.
