LZ Urges Residents, Businesses Sign up for Emergency Notification System

Lake Zurich is urging residents to sign up for the village’s new mass notification system which can get vital information out to the public in emergencies or other situations.

The village transitioned to a new system earlier this year to enhance village-wide communication and emergency preparedness. Lake Zurich’s system allows the village to instantly notify every household and business in the community in the event of emergencies or unforeseen public safety matters.

Officials can record, send and track personalized messages, send text messages and emails to thousands of residents in just minutes. The system also allows the village to target messages to certain groups or residents in a specific neighborhood, notifying only those that need to be aware of a situation. 

Residents can receive messages by home phones, email, text, cell phones, unlisted landlines or Voice over Internet (VoIP).
