The Illinois House of Representatives consists of representatives elected from 118 legislative districts. Each representative serves a two-year term with no limits.
House representatives meet at the State Capitol in Springfield, IL, on the second Wednesday of January annually. Their duties include making laws, acting on federal constitutional amendments and proposing constitutional amendments for Illinois. They also have the power to impeach executive and judicial officials.
