Ela Township Offers College Scholarships

Variety of scholarships available through township office.

Five scholarships are available for Ela Residents  who attend Lake Zurich High School according to Ela Township Supervisor, Lucy Prouty, and  are being offered at no cost to the taxpayers. The scholarships will be awarded  on the basis of community service  and  reasonable academic achievement.  Preference is given to those students who have selected CLC as their goal.  Previously the township has awarded 21  grants of $1,500 each, or $31,500. 

In the past few years the Township has also provided  $28,500 in grants to the Young Entrepreneurs  These scholarships  along with the Township scholarships are awarded from funds the students pay themselves for reserve parking at the Ela Soccer  Field.

“It’s our way of giving back," says Prouty.  Applications for the township scholarships are available from Lake Zurich High School or the Ela Township office.

In addition to the local scholarships, there are scholarships offered by the Township Officials  Of Illinois .  These scholarships are awarded to students in Illinois  who have expressed an interest in government.  Applications for the TOI scholarships are available from the township office.  They would require the applicants to interview a township official, providing an excellent opportunity for students to learn about local government.
