Chik-fil-A One Step Closer to Opening in Kildeer

The Kildeer Village Plan Commission recommended the village board approve the project, the Daily Herald reports.

It’s likely a Chik-fil-A restaurant will soon be opening in Kildeer.

The Daily Herald reports the Kildeer village plan commission voted unanimously to recommend that the village board approve the new restaurant

The fast food restaurant would be built on the former site of Muddy Paws animal shelter. Muddy Paws was torn down in two years ago, after thirty four dogs were found starved to death inside. Diane Eldrup was convicted of 18 felony counts of aggravated cruelty and 18 counts of animal torture for the incident.  She was sentenced to 18 months of periodic imprisonment in December of 2011.

In order for approval to be given on the new restaurant, several conditions would be need to be met including disconnecting the property from Deer Park and annexing it to Kildeer, the newspaper reports. Zoning would also need to be changed. The village board will further discuss the issue on June 18.
