What were some of the top stories this year?

It has been a big year in Lake Zurich.

Village trustees , which will serve as a framework for the village’s parks and recreation. Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer over properties at Route 22 and Quentin Road. Trustees also that will take effect Jan. 1.

We’ve seen village leaders leave. and both submitted their resignations, effective at the end of 2011. retired from the Lake Zurich Fire Department and then became . retired in May.

http://triblocal.com/lake-zurich/ The local news media has told the public the Administrator resigned. Who resigns and gets $78K+ severance package? The attached article link also indicates the board will be voting on the agreement and the Mayor and Administrator already signed off in November. How can documentation be signed before board approval?

Honest Voter, you know this was more than the public can see - AKA another Open Meetings Act violation. His contract was supposed to be expiring anyway. I think the resignation was only a tactful way of saying he resigned rather than his contract was not renewed. The mayor needs to explain how and why this was done.
