Update 10:33 a.m., Oct. 15
Missing Volo woman Aneta Marsek walked into a Wisconsin Dells gas station on Sunday night, and told the attendant to call police because she believed people were looking for her and that she had been reported missing, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The Wisconsin Dells Police Department received the 9-1-1 call, Sunday evening at approximately 6:55 p.m. Wisconsin Dells Police confirmed she had in fact been reported missing through the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Aneta then lead the Wisconsin Dells Police to her vehicle, where her two children were located, according to the news release. Aneta told police she had been living in her vehicle in the secluded wooded area off of County Road H and Fitzgerald Roads since she had arrived in the Dells days earlier.
Aneta and her two children were transported by rescue to St. Clair Hospital in Baraboo. Both children were examined and found to be in good health and were later released into the custody of their father, Dan Marsek. Aneta was transported to Winnebago Mental Health Facility in Oshkosh, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office news release.
In a statement by Ms. Marsek, Lake County detectives learned that Marsek did not leave the Volo area until sometime Monday morning. She said that she needed to “get away” and that the Dells area reminded her of “childhood memories”.
“I would like to commend our many divisions of the Sheriff’s Office that put their heart and souls into locating Aneta and her children,” said Sheriff Mark Curran in the news release. “We want to thank the entire law enforcement community, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, friends and family of the missing and the media for their assistance and overwhelming support in their attempts to help us locate Aneta and her two children. We are relieved that this had a good ending.”
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office review this case.
Update 9 p.m., Oct. 13.
Lake County Sheriff Mark C. Curran, Jr. announced that Aneta Marsek and her two children were found and are relatively healthy and safe. Law enforcement near the Wisconsin Dells reported to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office that Ms. Marsek and her two children, Chevelle and Macenzie, were unharmed and vacationing in the Dells.

Update 3:35 p.m., Oct. 12
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has been actively working the missing persons case involving Aneta Marsek and her two children, Chevelle and Macenzie since it was reported on Oct. 10, according to a news release this afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office is using every available resource in an attempt to locate Aneta and her children, according to the release.
Under the direction of Sheriff Mark Curran, all available personnel assigned to this case will be working around the clock until there is a successful resolution.
The Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NECMC) has sent out over 9,000 faxes distributing the flyer of the missing children and their mother. NECMC also sent out an alert to truck drivers in Illinois as well as Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.
In addition to the faxes and alerts, NECMC has also provided the LCSO with a member of “Team Adam”. Retired Chicago Police Officer, John Laskey, is a consultant for NECMC. He is on location at the Sheriff’s Office working side by side with detectives on the case. Mr. Laskey has an extensive background in locating missing persons.
Fox Lake Fire Department dive team is currently checking the retention ponds in the area of Aneta’s residence. The Law Enforcement Aviation Coalition and the Illinois State Police are also conducting aerial searches.

Oct. 11
The Lake County Sheriff's Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of Aneta M. Marsek, 33, of Volo and her two children, two-year-old Chevelle and Macenzie who is four-months old.
The three have not been seen or heard from since Oct. 6, at roughly 7 p.m., when they left Marsek's parent's home in Wauconda.
The woman and her children were reported missing by her estranged husband, Dan Marsek.
Aneta Marsek is described as a white female, standing 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.
Chevelle Marsek is described as a white female, standing 30 inches tall and weighing 30 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Macenzie Marsek is described as a white female infant who is 28 inches long and weighs 25 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
The vehicle Anita Marsek was driving at the time of the disappearance is a black Chevrolet Trailblazer, Illinois Registration: CZAJA28. It may have rear bumper damage from a recent accident.
