Thefts From Stores and Vehicles, Drivers With Suspended Licenses Lead To Arrests

Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from February 4-10.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Alcohol Stolen

Daniel J. Tieman, 19 of 111 Stone Marsh Lane, North Barrington was arrested at 10:40 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, for retail theft at the Target Department Store, 555 S. Rand Rd., police reports said. Tieman stole two bottles of liquor from the business and was charged with retail theft, according to police reports.

Driving With A Suspended License

Thomas M. Clark, 50, of 3633 W. College Ave. #18, Milwaukee, WI, was arrested at 10:49 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, for driving with a suspended licnese pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Old McHenry Road, police reports said. Clark initially provided a false name and date of birth to officers and was charged with attempted obstruction of justice and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to police reports. Clark was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Thursday, March 10, court date in Waukegan.

Driving Without A Valid License

Willie D. Douglas, 20, of 201 S. Buesching Rd. #104, was arrested at 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, for driving with no valid drivers license pursuant to a traffic stop on South Old Rand Road at Grever Court, police reports said. Douglas was charged with failure to wear a safety belt when required and driving without a valid driver’s license, according to police reports. Douglas was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Friday, March 4, court date in Mundelein.

Driving With A Suspended License

James K. Busch, 19, of 63 Highview Ave., Fox Lake, was arrested at 8:50 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, for driving with a suspended license pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Wooded Ridge, police reports said. Busch was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to police reports. Busch was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance and issued a Wednesday, March 2, court date in Mundelein.

Driving With A Suspended License

Willie L. Tidwell, 38, of 7925 S. Trumbull #3, Chicago was arrested at 11:58 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, and charged with driving with a suspended license pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Cuba Road, police reports said. Tidwell was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Wednesday, March 2, court date in Mundelein.

GPS System Taken

Someone removed a GPS system from a woman’s vehicle during the overnight hours while the vehicle was parked in the 400 block of Grand Road, she reported to police at 8:51 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 6.  The vehicle was unlocked when the burglary took place.  The loss is estimated at $240.  Further investigation is pending. 

Radio, Sweaters, Skis Taken From Vehicle

Someone took a radio, sweaters and snow skis from a man’s vehicle during the overnight hours while the vehicle was parked in the 400 block of Pheasant Ridge Road, the man reported to police at 8:25 a.m., Friday, Feb. 4.  The loss is estimated at $500. 

Driving Without A Valid License

Jose G. Candelas-Delacruz, 34, of 155 S. Chicago Ave. #206, Mundelein, was arrested at 8:38 a.m., Friday, Feb. 4, and charged with driving without a valid driver’s license pursuant to a motorist assist investigation on Oakwood Road at Midlothian Road, police reports said. Candelas-Delacruz was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Friday, March 4, court date in Mundelein.

Headset Stolen From Store

Colin B. Steiger, 18, of 670 Red Bridge Rd. and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Hawthorn Woods were arrested for retail theft at 5:10 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, at Walmart, 820 S. Rand Rd., police reports said. The males stole a Bluetooth headset valued at $48.88 and were and charged with theft, according to police reports.  Steiger was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond and issued a Friday, March 4, court date in Mundelein.  The juvenile was released to his parents with court action pending.
